If you run a waterjet, you know the deal. The jet cuts through your material, then hits whatever's underneath. If that support is solid – a metal slat, a plate, even a coarse grid – the water bounces back. Right up into the underside of your cut.

That's splash‑back. It roughs up your edges. And it sprays abrasive back at your nozzle, wearing it out way faster.

Waterjet hits the workpiece, cuts through, keeps going. When it hits the table, it deflects. That deflection sends water and grit back up into the cut zone.

What Honeycomb Does Differently

Three things.

First, it lets the jet pass through. The open cells give water a path down instead of a surface to bounce off of.

Polypropylene honeycomb supports are reusable, reversible, and don't corrode. Metal slats rust and wear out.
