To be a valuable global supplier
for metallic honeycombs and turbine parts
MAT Aviation manufactures nickel alloy honeycomb cores in HASTELLOY® X and HAYNES® 214® for custom sealing components. Metal strips are formed into a cellular structure and joined by resistance spot welding or laser welding according to the product specification. These cores can be supplied for honeycomb seal assemblies used in aircraft engines and industrial gas turbines.
Hastelloy X honeycomb core: HASTELLOY X is a nickel-chromium-iron-molybdenum alloy combining oxidation resistance, high-temperature strength and fabricability.
Haynes 214 honeycomb core: HAYNES 214 is a nickel-chromium-aluminum-iron alloy developed for high-temperature oxidation resistance. Its documented gas turbine applications include foil-constructed honeycomb seals.
For custom honeycomb projects, we can also review other nickel alloy grades, such as INCONEL 625 and HAYNES 224. Send your drawing, alloy specification and foil thickness so we can confirm manufacturing feasibility.
MAT Aviation has many years of experience in metal honeycomb manufacturing and applications. We have independently developed and implemented fully automated honeycomb welding equipment, together with proprietary flexible honeycomb design and manufacturing technology. Continued product and process improvement supports both customized production and volume manufacturing.
Nickel alloy honeycomb cores can be supplied as strips, panels, blocks, rings, arc segments and other custom shapes. Cell size, foil thickness, core height, cell orientation and overall dimensions are specified according to the customer drawing and application requirements.
MAT Aviation operates an AS9100D-certified quality management system and holds Nadcap accreditations for heat treating, welding, nondestructive testing (NDT) and nonconventional machining. Applicable accreditation scope, process requirements and inspection criteria are confirmed for each order.
